Apply a strip of icing across the bottom edge of the roof.
Lay down your “shingles” along the strip of icing, leaving no space between the individual pieces. On the bottom row, have the shingles hang over the edge of the roof slightly.
Pipe another strip of icing directly above the row you just put down.
Place the next row of shingles so they are slightly overlapping the previous row.
Repeat this process until you reach the top.
